The Tacos of Mexico City: An Introduction
Time: 3 1/2 to 4 hours
Held: Monday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4:30/5 p.m.
Description: You can’t come to Mexico City without trying some of its fabulous tacos. On this tour, we’ll introduce you to some of the best of what D.F. has to offer — including tacos al pastor, guisados, árabes, carnitas and cochinita pibil. While we eat, we’ll discuss the history and context of each taco we try. You won’t try any street food on this tour, but we do visit some fabulous fondas, which are small, casual restaurants with homestyle food.
Possible variations: Do you love tacos and beer? Ask us about adding a visit to a Mexican microbrew bar at the end of your tour!

Late Night Tacos & Mezcal
Time: 7:30/8:00 p.m.-11:30/midnight
Held: Monday-Saturday nights
Description: This tour offers an inside look at the nighttime eating scene in Mexico City. Customers have a choice of starting out at a mezcalería, where we’ll try artisanal mezcal, or at a bar specializing in Mexican microbrews. Both items are among the hottest beverages in Mexico right now. We’ll try esquites, the city’s street-corn specialty, and then we’ll visit three iconic Mexico City taquerías. This tour offers tastes of tacos de suadero, tacos al pastor and volcanes de queso, a crispy tostada slathered with melted cheese. It’s not fit for vegetarians but meat-eaters will love it! This tour also includes transportation in a private, chauffeured vehicle.
