The Tacos of Mexico City: An Introduction
Time: 3 1/2 to 4 hours
Held: Monday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4:30/5 p.m.
Description: You can’t come to Mexico City without trying some of its fabulous tacos. On this tour, we’ll introduce you to some of the best of what D.F. has to offer — including tacos al pastor, guisados, árabes, carnitas and cochinita pibil. While we eat, we’ll discuss the history and context of each taco we try. You won’t try any street food on this tour, but we do visit some fabulous fondas, which are small, casual restaurants with homestyle food.
Possible variations: Do you love tacos and beer? Ask us about adding a visit to a Mexican microbrew bar at the end of your tour!
Taco Tour Price
- Reservation made up to 3 days before desired tour date: $105 USD per person for two people; $165 for one person traveling alone.
- Three to two days before desired tour date: $115 USD per person for two people; $175 for one person traveling alone.
- One day before desired tour date: $145 USD per person for two people; $180 for one person traveling alone.

Late Night Tacos & Mezcal
Time: 8:00 p.m.-midnight
Held: Monday-Thursday, Saturday nights
Description: Join us as we zip around Mexico City in a private, chauffeured vehicle. First stop is a mezcalería, where we’ll try a small-batch, artisan mezcal. (If you’re not a mezcal drinker, the bar also has beer and aguas frescas.) Then we’ll visit three iconic Mexico City taquerías. Think you’ve tried tacos in the Mexican capital? You ain’t seen nothing until you’ve joined the throngs eating on sidewalks after 10:00 p.m. This tour offers tastes of tacos de suadero, tacos al pastor, volcanes de queso and tacos de arrachera. It’s not fit for vegetarians but meat-eaters will love it! Extra tip: If you want to continue the party afterward, our driver will drop you off at local bar specializing in Mexican microbrews.
